This January we return for our fourth ever installment of Red Gum Pass - a small event with big ambition. The vital importance of contemporary arts in the Great Southern is often overlooked, with opportunities to express ourselves in safe and inclusive spaces being a rarity. This has lead to the ethos of Red Gum Pass - to create an inspiring and colourful environment featuring different forms and genres of music, and showcases of experimental and interesting art, by both local and state-wide individuals.

SAFETY

It is our top priority that Red Gum Pass is a place where people of all sexualities and gender identifications can feel safe and comfortable so they can focus on having a good time. To ensure safe, inclusive and respectful spaces, we are working toward eliminating all incidents of sexual harassment and anti-social behaviour. When you attend Red Gum Pass, you should be safe from:

  • Being touched without your consent.

  • Unwanted sexual attention. This can be verbal, too.

  • Being followed, having your photo taken without your permission, or harassment of any kind.

Everyone involved in the creation of this festival has zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour and harassment. No matter how minor it may seem, please reach out to any of our staff if you feel uncomfortable so we can continue working towards a safe space for everyone.

LICENSING & FOOD

Denmark ArtsHouse is a licensed venue that will be selling alcohol. BYO is not permitted.

All minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. No minors are to consume alochol.

These are federal laws to keep people safe, please respect them. We are a small team and don't want to be dealing with unnecessary issues.

There will be 2 food trucks on site, providing a range of options to cater for most dietary requirements and allergys.

GENERAL SITE RULES

  • Show respect for the venue, and those around you. It's not hard.

  • No drinks on the DJ table, don't get on stage, and don't touch stuff that ain't yours.

  • Put cans in the Containers for Change bins provided please! (it will just be me and a couple of friends cleaning up the place)

  • Please don't touch any of the artwork involved in the exhibitons, unless directed to do so.

  • Smoking and vaping is to be done away from people and crowds. Definitely not inside.

  • No sleeping in the ArtsHouse overnight. This is not a camping festival.

  • Do not drink and drive. Sleep in your car if you have to.

Stay Safe.

Red Gum Pass is not a place to binge on alcohol and drugs - it's a small community festival created to enjoy and celebrate quality music and art, not a place to get completely hammered. That being said, please look after your friends and organise a pickup or designated driver for after the event.

GETTING THERE + ACCESSIBILITY

Denmark ArtsHouse address is 2A Strickland St, Denmark WA 6333. There is plenty of parking at the venue and close by.

To find your way to the site, just follow the signs (or the fairy lights).

The ArtsHouse is an accessible building and there are no stairs involved. We are striving to achieve 100% accessibility so those with disabilities can attend stress-free. There will be quiet zones and free earplugs available, and plenty of seating - please do contact us if you have any questions.

Denmark does not have Uber, and it has barely any taxis. Luckily, the town centre is within walking distance - however most official campsites are not. Organising lifts or a deso is your best bet if you aren't staying within walking distance.

Have your ticket on your phone and ready to scan upon arrival, where you'll be greeted by our lovely door staff. You may come and go as you please, but it is encouraged that you get down early, and stick around for the whole event. We have everything you need.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Red Gum Pass 2024! Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.

- Jeremy, Milly, and the RGP team.

RED GUM PASS takes place on Menang Noongar Boodja. We pay our respect to the Aboriginal elders of the past and the present. Australia always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
